Gary and Nicolas teamed up for one week to conduct and participate in 12 meetings ranging from a Parenting and Teacher’s Seminar to Motivational Presentations along with a two hour presentation on Radio Gray FM. In all there were 1,480 attendees.

Family Care Indonesia members Nicolas and Frances visited the Island of Rote to survey the areas for future projects as well as visiting the only orphanage on this remote Island where they donated Snacks and Stationery to the 340 children there.

In response to 8 months of drought in the NTT region of Indonesia, several friends sponsored a trip for Family Care Indonesia members Esther, Francis and Nicolas to be able to go to the region and channel needed finances to those affected and to help with basic food packages.

Family Care Indonesia members Gary and Nicolas facilitated the shipping of top quality PA and Sound Systems to several locations in Papua, to a school in Atambua and to several other locations in Flores.

During the last week of their visit to the island of NTT, Family Care Indonesia volunteers Nicolas and Andre held a character building program for elementary and primary school children along with conducting motivational seminars for young people in Kupang, Kefa and Atambua.

Family Care Indonesia volunteers, Nicky and Andre, led a seminar for 300 inmates of the Lembaga Pewasyarakatan Atambua, Timor Island. These FCI volunteers brought encouragement and inspiration to the prisoners and distributed 350 motivational leaflets.

For the past four years, Family Care Indonesia volunteers have made regular visits to West Flores Island to help the village people there. In June, project coordinator, Frances, along with 8 FCI youth volunteers returned again to Flores.

In 2007 Family Care Indonesia volunteer, Angel received several phone calls from a friend concerned about the educational need for families along the Indonesian/Timor Leste border. This spurred our concern and with the help of local sponsors FCI gathered a variety of educational supplies for the schools there.

This month, construction began on a three room school building in the city of Atambua. Through the generosity of numerous sponsors, Family Care Indonesia volunteers were able to collect sufficient funding for this project. It is estimated that construction will take two and half to three months. The building will serve as an addition for the original school that was built in 2009.
